Applications are now closed.
There are a limited number of Event Maker places available. All applications will be reviewed and you’ll hear from us by April 12th to let you know if you will be progressing to the final step in the process (a short online interview).
Do I need to buy a ticket for the Festival?
No. You will have the necessary Festival access to complete your tasks and any available time can be spent enjoying the Festival sessions and activities as an attendee. Your role at the Festival may also enable you to see some of the sessions. If your application to be an Event Maker is not successful, we will give you the opportunity to buy your ticket at the Early Supporter ticket price (this offer will be valid for 7 days) so you don’t miss out on the discounted rates.
We have bold ambitions for this festival. It will be the biggest gathering of B Corps in the world to date. There’s more to do than just bringing people together. We want to turn conversations into action; harness new connections and empower everyone to do more in their business.
An event of this scale and ambition can only happen with support from the community. Volunteer your time and help us make the first B Corp Festival a game-changing event.
What will I do as an Event Maker?
Event Makers support our Event and Production Teams during the Festival. They are an essential extension to these teams and are on-site to set up venues; support registration; help participants plus other general event-related tasks. Your volunteer role will be for 8-10 hours per day (with breaks).

Why volunteer?
Volunteering is a fun and rewarding way to experience the festival. Join a friendly community of volunteers, make friends for life, and help us to accelerate change.
You’ll also get all the training you need plus:
- En-suite accommodation for 2 nights in Oxford city centre
- All your meals/refreshments throughout the event including our Event Makers’ Dinner on Monday 9th September
- A sustainably sourced event kit including a uniform designed to keep and wear again.
Whether you have volunteered at other events or this is your first time, we’d love you to join us this September.
To apply, you need to:
- Be an employee of a B Corp or a B Leader
- Love working with people
- Think proactively and be able to adapt to last minute changes
- Available for 2 x virtual pre-festival Event Maker briefings
- Be available in person in Oxford from 10am Monday 9th September – approx. 6pm Wednesday 11th September.

What is it like to be an Event Maker at a B Corp event?
1000xBetter at the Natural History Museum was a large-scale event to celebrate reaching 1,000 B Corps in the UK. This was the first time we created the role of Event Makers. And it was a big success.
We were blown away by how many Event Makers wanted to be involved, and how rewarding they found the experience. Here’s a few comments from previous Event Makers:
“I LOVED it! Such a great way to get involved. Huge thanks for the opportunity and also well done for such a brilliant event. I think having volunteers who also feel so part of the event was a brilliant idea.”
“It was a fantastic night, and I very much enjoyed it not just because I was there, but also because I felt I had a role to play and could contribute to a good cause. I want to thank you all for being such terrific organisers and giving us the opportunity to connect with other B Corp members.”
“I think the event makers idea worked really well, I felt I had a purpose and was pleased I could contribute! As part of my duties, I helped clear a path through the crowd for the choir, after a few transgressors I politely but firmly asked people to keep the path clear: I looked up and there was Mary Portas!”
