RAPID Democracy: How can B Corps make bigger and better decisions by involving more people?

Hosted by: New Citizen Project Regenerative futures Audience Size: Up to 35 View map Buy Tickets View full agenda

What to expect?

New Citizen Project is a pioneering strategy and innovation company, on a mission to shift the dominant story of the individual in society from Consumer to Citizen.

We’ve developed “RAPID Democracy” to help organisations make bigger and better decisions by involving the right people at the right time. This includes working with The Body Shop to set up its “Youth Collective” advisory board, helping the Government of Jersey to hold a citizens’ assembly on climate change, and supporting three major charities to launch the People’s Plan for Nature, a crowdsourced and co-created plan for how governments, business, individuals and communities can join forces to restore the UK’s natural environment.

In this session, we’ll explore what the RAPID Democracy model can offer B Corps and mission-led businesses. We’ll explain how the model works, and then quickly get you playing with it through a set of highly interactive and imaginative exercises.

Why join this session?

Learn about different forms of democratic innovation and how they can be applied to making mission-led businesses even more responsive, decisive and impactful. Take people with you as more than just consumers OF your mission, but genuine participants IN your mission.

What are the key outcomes?

Leave with a sense of how your customers or business communities might help you solve the big challenges you face. Equip yourself with a model for applying democratic innovations to your own processes. Identify challenges and opportunities in opening up your company’s decision-making to be more inclusive and impactful.
