The ripple effect of Impact Business Models

Hosted by: B Lab UK Regenerative futures Audience Size: Up to 35 View map Buy Tickets View full agenda

What to expect?

The session will be an interactive workshop focusing on Impact Business Models. They are a core part of the current B Lab standards, and will remain a feature of the new evolved standards.

B Lab UK analysts will provide an overview of what Impact Business Models are, followed by an example of how we can assess the real world impact on stakeholders of implementing an Impact Business Model.

We will then facilitate a group activity where participants will work together to understand the impact of business models on wider stakeholders, how to track and measure outcomes, identify ways to improve impact and link this impact to wider sustainability principles. All of this will help to create impactful stories of real world impact!

We aim to focus on the realised impacts and outcomes that business models can have on stakeholders by taking a step back to consider what the impact is on a company’s wider ecosystem. For example, working directly with underserved suppliers earns credit in the Supply Chain Poverty Alleviation IBM – but why is this beneficial? What wider stakeholders does this impact?

You don’t need to be an expert in IBMs to attend, the session is open to all interested in creating lasting impact.

Why join this session?

You want to understand how to assess the impact of your business model on wider stakeholders and how to translate points in the BIA to real world impact. You will learn from 3 experienced B Lab analysts who have worked with over 1,500 companies on their B Corp journey. You will also get the opportunity to connect with other people on the same improvement journey as you, and learn from companies who have successfully implemented Impact Business Models.

What are the key outcomes?

Participants will:

  • understand how to assess the impact of their business model on wider stakeholders
  • learn how to capture and measure the impact on their identified stakeholders to identify improvements
  • learn how to translate points in the BIA to real world impact, to help with impact storytelling.
