We are using a number of different venues across the City of Oxford. Some older venues (such as New Theatre built in the 1930s) do have some limitations. However, every venue is compliant with UK accessibility standards.
Accessibility is a top priority for us. For the Festival, we have a designated Access Co-ordinator, available before and during the event who can be contacted by emailing changemakers@thebcorpfestival.co.uk. Please add ‘Accessibility’ as the subject in your email so we can direct this email to them. They will help you with your individual needs.
Many venues are equipped with elevators and ramps, and there are designated accessible seating areas to ensure that all participants can comfortably participate. Some venues have wide doorways, and accessible toilet facilities available for participants with mobility impairments. Our Event Team and Event Makers are trained to assist attendees in navigating venues effectively.
There are also designated quiet spaces with reduced lighting, noise levels and smaller group sizes for participants with neuro-diverse needs.
When creating your profile on the event app there is also space to tell us about your accessibility requirements.
In short, no you don’t! The membership and access code sections in our ticketing portal are for our event volunteers (Event Makers and Speakers), staff and partners.
Both mornings start as one large community with 2 hours of compelling talks and interactive sessions at New Theatre (streamed to the Curzon cinema and online). Then there will be over 30 sessions of different topics, sizes, formats in our afternoon fringe programme.
Tickets to join us for two days at Louder than words range from £65 for a full virtual experience to £595 for a theatre experience in the stalls. The event is not-for-profit and these prices are set to cover the costs of running a high-quality, interactive, unforgettable festival with our community – along with a contribution from B Lab UK.
The Super Supporter ticket includes a “pay it forward” element, covering the cost of a balcony ticket for someone whose financial circumstances might prevent them from joining us. You can apply for one of these here.
The Super Supporter ticker package includes a ‘pay it forward’ ticket for someone whose financial circumstances would otherwise prevent them from participating. We have up to 60 pay-it-forward tickets available which would grant recipients the same access as a Balcony Theatre Experience ticket. You can apply for a Pay it Forward ticket online, the deadline for applications is Friday 31st May.
No, you don’t. Whilst we will be using the app for a speedy registration, we will have a manned check-in desk where you can provide your details to receive your badge. You are also able to build your agenda on the desktop version of the app in advance and print it yourselves (we will not have a printer on-site).
Certain printed documents will be available for collection, however, if there is something specific that you would like please email changemakers@thebcorpfestival.co.uk and we will do our best to accommodate.
If you have a question that’s not included in these FAQs, please send us an email to changemakers@thebcorpfestival.co.uk and we promise to reply by the next working day.
