What to expect?
Held in the Oxford Town Hall courthouse, we will put tourism on trial. The court will ask whether international air travel for discretionary holidays is ever justifiable, given the holiday options available domestically. Expect a lively debate with examples from leading travel companies on actions they are taking to create purposeful travel experiences at home and abroad. Which side will come out victorious?
Why join this session?
The travel and hospitality industry is intertwined with social and environmental issues that cannot be ignored. Already this summer, we have seen backlashes against travel in certain European cities, devastating forest fires in the Rocky Mountain town of Jasper and towns here in the UK battling xenophobia and far right extremism like we have never seen before. The future of travel whether in the UK or further afield is at stake and it needs the kinds of solutions and examples of what good tourism can be like from B Corps.
What are the key outcomes?
To provide the travelling public with real examples of the kind of positive impacts that B Corps embed in their businesses and why these initiatives make such a difference.
